Mad for Plaid

A plaid flannel shirt is something that I personally think no gal should go without.  Worn alone or layered with other pieces, a plaid shirt is always classic and cute. Throw on a denim jacket and black jeans, a fur vest and a great pair of skinny jeans, or even dress it up with a statement necklace and pumps... you seriously can't go wrong here! It always looks effortlessly-chic.  If I could sum up my style in one outfit - this would be it. I practically live in skinny jeans and aviators, and adding a touch of plaid gives the outfit the country-flare I love so much.

Cable Knit Sweater

We have had freakishly amazing weather here in CT over the last week.  It's been in the high 50's and even reached 60 degrees this weekend!  Last January we were already buried in 2 feet of snow!  This cable-knit sweater was perfect for walking around during the day... I'm hoping I can get away with just a sweater for a little longer.  It's hard to believe I've only had one or two outfit posts that involved a winter coat!    Happy Sunday Funday!

Sometimes my outfit inspiration comes from one item... in this case, it was this adorable printed scarf I got at H&M.  It has all different types of pretty perfume bottles printed on it - I couldn't resist!  I pulled my hair up into a top-knot to let the scarf be the focus.  I'm also wearing my new Tory Burch earrings that Raja's parents gave me for Christmas.  These for sure will be making more appearances on the blog, I don't want to take them off!  Hope you all have a great weekend!

Beauty Essentials: Favorite Bronzer

Bronzers can be tricky enough.  Unfortunately for me, my favorite conveniently became discontinued a few years ago and I have been searching for "the one" ever since.  Rest in Peace, SUGAR Tropic Tan, you are still missed everyday.

With that said, I have tried just about everyone's favorite bronzer with no avail.  These include the ever-so-popular NAR's Laguna and Too Faced Caribbean.  My current favorite is Smashbox Bronze Lights in Suntan Matte.  I love the matte finish (and HATE when you look like someone tossed glitter in your face) and I'm grateful to have found somewhat of a replacement.  Can you tell I'm bitter?  I hate discontinued products!

Jean Shorts & Tights

Olivia Palermo is one of my style icons and I always see pics of her out and about in NYC rocking jean shorts with black tights.  I thought... why not?! I own way too many pairs of jean shorts and live in them during the summer months... I usually shed a tear each time the fall comes around and they move from my drawers to storage bins.  This is a perfect way to keep them around all year long!

A huge thank you to all of you who follow my blog - it has been a blast getting to know my readers and other bloggers from around the world.  I've learned so much more about myself and my personal style, and it's hard to believe how much I have accomplished since September 2011.  I hope to accomplish major things in 2012!  Stay tuned!

NYE Glam Edition

Forever 21 dress, Steve Madden pumps, Michael Kors watch and bangles, Banana Republic cocktail ring, Charming Charlie earrings.

I had a blast celebrating the New Year with Raj and our friends!  We shipped up to Boston with a party of 20 friends, VIP-style, at Umbria Prime and partied the night away! Plenty of champagne included!  I saw this dress at Forever 21 back in September and knew it would be the most perfect NYE dress.  I wore it for my Hartford Magazine photo-shoot and could not wait to wear it again!  Hope you all had a fantastic NYE as well... I'm ready for 2012! Bring it on!

New Years Eve is FAST approaching... and if you don't have anything to wear, you better hop to it! We're only 3 days away! I always think of NYE as one of the few times a year to go big or go home and this year will be no exception!  Since you know I'm on a sequin binge, it only made sense to show off some of my dream outfits full of sparkle and and all about GLAMOUR.  Now if only I had an unlimited bank account...
